Spacetime as a quantum circuit

Abstract: I will review some recent work (arXiv:2101.01185) which proposes to identify the on-shell gravitational action for regions in spacetime with the complexity of a suitable quantum circuit, which significantly extends previous proposals on path integral optimization and complexity.
